Event Details

Our Ornament Decorating Class offers a sensory-friendly, interactive experience that helps children develop essential life skills through engaging in ornament decorating-time activities with peers. This supportive, small-group setting is led by our skilled team and focuses on:

  • Social Interaction: Encouraging children to practice conversation skills and positive social exchanges during snack time, helping them build friendships.

  • Following Directions: Teaching children to follow multi-step directions—like setting up their snack space and tidying up—promoting independence and responsibility.

  • Waiting and Turn-Taking: Cultivating patience and cooperative behavior by taking turns during snack activities, helping children thrive in group settings.

  • Self-Advocacy: Empowering children to express preferences and make choices, such as selecting snacks or asking for help, fostering confidence and independence.

  • Emotional Regulation: Supporting children in using coping strategies to manage excitement or frustration in a relaxed, social environment.

  • Daily Living Skills: Practicing practical skills like opening containers, using utensils, and practicing table manners to encourage self-sufficiency.

This class is designed to make learning fun, helping children grow in confidence, independence, and social abilities—all through the enjoyable experience of decorating an ornament with friends!
