Build Skills and Have Fun in Our Meal Prep Class: Waffle-Making Edition!
Join us for a hands-on cooking experience as we whip up delicious waffles together! This meal prep class is designed to help children develop essential life skills in a fun, supportive environment, all while enjoying the rewards of their hard work. During this class, participants will focus on:
Social Interaction: Working collaboratively with peers, sharing tasks, and engaging in positive conversations during the cooking process.
Following Directions: Practicing step-by-step instruction following—from measuring ingredients to using a waffle maker safely.
Waiting and Turn-Taking: Learning patience and cooperation as participants take turns mixing, pouring, and cooking their waffles.
Self-Advocacy: Encouraging children to express preferences, such as choosing toppings or asking for help during the activity.
Fine Motor Skills: Strengthening motor coordination through tasks like pouring batter, measuring ingredients, and using utensils.
Daily Living Skills: Gaining practical cooking experience, including preparation, cleanup, and understanding food safety.
This interactive class is not only a recipe for fun but also a valuable opportunity to build independence, confidence, and essential life skills—one waffle at a time!
